Dear Friends

I am writing to thank you all for the wonderful support given to the Fund at East Berkshire Golf Club. In my ‘thank you’ I include the participants, the sponsors, the donors, the helpers, and especially the staff at the Club for their warm welcome and service. Thank you to Paul Donnelly – Club Captain, Colin Day – Secretary and Jason Brant – Professional for their wholehearted input to the day.

I apologise for the delay in writing to you, but holidays and other events have taken up time. I have been most anxious to let you know how much money we raised – whilst alongside this the Trustees have been busy considering various projects that could benefit from the Funds raised.

I hope you enjoyed the day – we were blessed with excellent weather – on a lovely course and that your golf was good! Congratulations to prize winners.

The amount raised was £10008 – plus some £450 income tax recoverable from those donations that were ‘gift-aided’. A marvellous result that will enable the Trustees to continue to help the needy children in Africa.

The Fund will continue in its efforts to raise monies, and alongside our regular activities, we are holding a Ball in Wellington College on Saturday 31 October 2009 – please make a note of the date – our newsletters will keep you informed of all other activities.
